Gala Dinner for Overgate Hospice Hits £500,000 for Big Build Appeal Just one month on from the Gala Dinner at the historic Halifax Town Hall, Overgate Hospice’s Big Build Appeal has now reached an incredible milestone—£500,000 raised in total. An astonishing £447,000 was generated on the night alone, thanks to the generosity of supporters and the event's key sponsor, Leo Group Ltd. Leo Group Ltd, specialists in animal by-products and renewable energy, has long-standing ties with Overgate Hospice. The company proudly served as headline sponsor for the event, ensuring that every penny raised went directly to the Big Build Appeal. With just 100 guests in attendance, the Gala Dinner was an intimate yet powerful evening. Attendees were treated to live entertainment, heartfelt stories, and a spectacular auction brimming with generous and unique prizes donated by incredible supporters. Students from Kendal College visited Mount Pleasant Farm in Penrith, owned by Leo Group to undertake vital training for their T level qualification in the farms parlour. Leo Group has strong links with the British agricultural industry, having been founded by a family with substantial farming heritage. Over the past 40 years Leo Group has acquired 17 farms and over 900 hectares of land, of which more than 300 acres is woodland and 105 acres is protected land.
