Leo Group has an effluent treatment plant at our Omega Proteins site in Penrith.
This allows us to recycle our wastewater on site and make use of the water internally for bio filter irrigation and boiler feedwater, removing our reliance on mains water. This also means the contamination free water can be safely discharged back into the environment.
In addition to the traditional effluent plant we have installed a reverse osmosis plant which allows further processing efficiencies due to the purification process. This improves our steam output by 3.2% through the equipment we have installed.
Due to our commitment to investment and constant improvement, we also recently completed and commissioned the construction of another effluent plant at our Kintore site.
