Omega Proteins Halifax is our raw pet food operation based at Leo Group’s Head Office.
The facility processes category 3 raw material which is classed as low risk and includes parts of animals that have been passed fit but are not intended human consumption however, they can still be eaten by pets.
Raw materials such as beef, poultry and lamb are transported from abattoirs and butchers directly to our state-of-the-art site, where they are blended to customer specifications and plate-frozen in blocks to maintain freshness.
The frozen raw ingredients are then transported to some of the most well-known wet pet food producers to be used in canned pet food and pouch lines that can be seen in pet food aisles worldwide.
