Leo Group’s Danny Sawrij to take part in Kenny Logan’s Rugby World Cup Challenge
Leo Group is delighted to announce the participation of its owner Danny Sawrij, friend and neighbour of Doddie Weir, in the Kenny Logan’s Rugby World Cup Challenge, a 700 mile walk and cycle challenge from Edinburgh to Paris for the Rugby World Cup to raise £555,555 for the MY NAME’5 DODDIE FOUNDATION.
Leo Group is a long-time supporter of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and is proud to be one of the major sponsors of the Kenny Logan’s Rugby World Challenge to raise much needed funds for Motor Neuron Disease research.
On 1 October, Danny will join many others, including celebrities such as Kenny and Gabby Logan, Jimmy Nesbitt, Jamie Bamber and Jason Fox, in this physically and mentally demanding challenge to mark the first Rugby World Cup since the sad passing of Doddie Weir. Participants will cover the 700 miles from Edinburgh to Paris in just seven days, arriving in Paris for Scotland’s match against Ireland in the group stages of the World Cup. The aim of the challenge is to raise vital funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to support their fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
”The money raised will go towards the research and development necessary to find a much needed cure for MND; the disease that took our dear friend Doddie, who was a neighbour of mine at the farm. Seeing his wit and determination after being diagnosed with the disease was incredible. When you are lucky enough to meet someone with the resilience and determination that Doddie had, it doesn’t leave you. He started this foundation knowing full well that it would make little difference to him personally, but he knew it would make a difference to many others in the years to come. So as a friend and neighbour, it is my duty to do as much as I can for a man like Doddie. Please dig deep, as believe me, I will have to dig deeper. And, believe me, I will ensure that I complete it.
